One80 acquires Denver-based Hill Program Managers
One80 Intermediaries has acquired Denver, Colorado-based Hill Program Managers, a deal that will deepen the wholesale consolidator platform’s expertise in the oil and gas service industries and expand its professional and pollution coverage offerings.
Family-run Hill Program Managers specialises in oil and gas services providers, architects and engineers, and construction and design contractors. Its coverages include general, professional, excess professional, pollution, contractor’s pollution, and excess liability.
The commercial lines program manager works closely with three carrier partners to develop, market, and underwrite leading insurance programs to agents and brokers throughout the US.
Hill Program Manager’s website lists WR Berkley and Lloyd’s as carriers it works with.
“With over 30 years in the insurance industry, my team and I pride ourselves in excellent service and exceptional loss ratios and operating results,” said Michael Hill, managing director at Hill Program Managers.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Matt Power, One80’s president, said in a statement to The Insurer: “We are excited to have established a One80 office in Denver which, along with our team in Colorado Springs represents our continued commitment to the region”.
The acquisition follows One80 last month announcing a deal for Louisiana-based MGA and wholesaler Equity Partners Insurance Services (EPIS), which expanded its presence in the US Gulf Coast region.
EPIS was founded in 2002 and specialises in property casualty, garage and auto services, personal lines, professional lines, environmental and marine insurance.
Boston-based One80 has now announced seven deals so far this year.
In March it added cannabis and hemp industry specialist Cannasure Insurance Services to its growing platform.
That followed deals earlier in the year for New York-based retail vehicle industry MGU Edward E Hall and Company, Minnesota-based Van Wagenen Financial Services, New York-based public entities-focused program administrator Corieri and Associates and Colorado Springs-based broker and program manager Commercial Insurance Group.
One80 was set up in 2019, with former Lexington executive vice president Power as president. It now has over 700 employees and 35 offices in the US and Canada.
