Allstate adj net income halves as auto results deteriorate

Allstate reported adjusted net income that dropped 50 percent to $796mn as the US insurance giant was hit by higher non-cat losses in auto and homeowners impacted by higher accident frequency and inflation, prior-year reserve strengthening in auto liability and shared economy business, and higher cat losses.
