Louisiana’s Donelon puts Americas Insurance into receivership after circa $230mn Ida loss

Louisiana insurance commissioner Jim Donelon has placed Americas Insurance Company (AIC) into receivership following the homeowners carrier’s redomestication to the state from Washington, DC on the back of an Ida loss of up to $230mn that tore through its reinsurance tower and surplus.
