Sompo Intl hires Co-Operators’ Lamba as Canada re head, QBE’s Sheehan as NA A&H re head

Sompo International has appointed Toronto-based Apundeep Lamba as head of reinsurance, Canada, and Garden City, New York-based Denise Sheehan as SVP, head of North America accident and health reinsurance.

Lamba joins from The Co-operators Group Limited, where he was responsible for the corporate actuarial and reinsurance services function.

Before his six years at the Co-Operators, Lamba was at Swiss Re for almost six years and has also worked at Aviva Canada.

Sheehan most recently served as vice president, special risk accident leader – accident health for QBE North America, where during her 23-year tenure she led several A&H (re)insurance teams and program portfolios.
