Guy Carpenter names Enoizi as Europe CEO
Marsh McLennan’s reinsurance arm Guy Carpenter has named Julian Enoizi as CEO of Europe, replacing Dorothée Mélis-Moutafis who has held the role on an interim basis since April.
Enoizi will begin the new role with immediate effect, reporting to Laurent Rousseau, CEO of Guy Carpenter Europe, Middle East and Africa, and global capital solutions.
In his new role, Enoizi will be responsible for spearheading Guy Carpenter’s broking operations across its European offices.
He will continue in his role as global head of Guy Carpenter’s public sector practice until a successor is appointed.
Enoizi joined Guy Carpenter in April 2022 to lead the new practice, based in London but operating globally to research and develop new public-private partnership solutions and collaborative initiatives for systemic risks.
Prior to Guy Carpenter, Enoizi served as CEO of Pool Re for more than eight and a half years.
During his time at the helm, the UK government-backed terrorism reinsurance scheme helped facilitate the development of a private UK terrorism market with more than £10bn in gross written premium, while accumulating greater central reserves to protect the taxpayer from a potential loss.
Other previous senior Europe-based roles include president and CEO of Argo International, as well as CEO of CNA Europe.
Mélis-Moutafis will take on a new executive role based in New York in addition to serving as global account executive, assuming responsibility for strategic C-suite engagement for current and prospective clients.
Guy Carpenter said Mélis-Moutafis will remain close to the European business during the leadership transition.
Commenting on the appointment, Dean Klisura, president and CEO of Guy Carpenter, said: “Julian is one of the firm’s most experienced and recognised senior executives. He will bring to this role a strong focus on delivering the services and solutions that will help clients across Europe address the wide range of issues their organisations face.”
He continued: “Dorothée has a proven track record as a client-focused leader and brings a wealth of experience to her new position. Both her and Julian’s appointments reflect the deep bench of talent we have across Guy Carpenter.”
Enoizi added: “It is a privilege to lead Guy Carpenter’s highly talented European broking team.
“At a time when clients need to navigate an increasingly complex set of market conditions, Guy Carpenter – and the wider Marsh McLennan offering – are able to provide them with an unparalleled breadth of capabilities and expertise.”
